Grace Ivy at 10 days old - Newborn Photoshoot, Essex
I have known Grace's mummy Charlotte for quite some years now. We met as colleagues, working together at a local Colchester day nursery. Doing what we both loved, looking after babies and children. We shared many happy fun memories together, until I left the nursery work to go back to being a full time mummy. So I was over the moon for Charlotte when she and her partner Daryl announced that they were expecting their first baby and even more delighted when they asked me to photograph their new baby. Charlotte and Daryl booked in for their session nice and early and we patiently watched the little bump grow until due date came................ annnnnd went. Little Grace had other ideas about joining us in the big wide world on time and was very nice and snug with mummy. Finally after what seemed like forever, This gorgeous little lady made her grand entrance, in a big way. Once mum and baby were home from hospital and settled we booked a date to hold Grace's first photo shoot.
Charlotte and I had discussed, the colours and props we would be using for the session. I had recently invested in some new backdrops and handcrafted headbands to match and was excited to get to use them after a
long run of little boy sessions.
The session day finally arrived and Grace was now 10 days old. I was so excited to meet this precious little lady. Once I had set up my little mini studio at the family's home and I had had a lovely little snuggle with Grace, we got cracking, wrapping Grace with a cute lace outfit and matching wrap then snuggled her in a fur-lined basket. Capturing each of her unique details; beautiful crown, tiny fingers and much more... Grace was such a perfect model and even gave me lots of cute smiley looking facial expressions. We changed the look of the session by adding some pink wraps, bonnets, and headbands. I loved how Charlotte was making lots of awww or oooo comments and at one point excitedly said " wow this is exactly how I imagined it to be" a perfect compliment to the session! just what a photographer wants to hear! After a short comfort break, we moved onto the beanbag where
Grace happily posed, at the end of the session Grace was wide awake and very chatty, cooing and smiley. Grace is such a heart melter and it was an honour to be asked to photograph her at this precious time. Thank you, Charlotte and Daryl for choosing me as your photographer and I look forward to seeing Grace grow. Lots of love Sarah xxx
